A great option for experienced paddlers, self-guided trips allow you to explore the Black canyon, soak in the natural hot springs, and enjoy lunches you have packed for your self, so you can enjoy your day at your own pace. When renting one of our Prijon kayaks we will make sure your kayak is fitted for comfort. After a mandatory safety orientation you’ll be on your way.

If this is your first time in the Black Canyon we suggest you take a guided tour, this way your professional guide will supply you with all the nessesities and show you all their favorite spots, so the next time you want to come and take some friends, you can be the guide.

 

Only 45 paddle craft permits issued daily. Please call for availability

 

Packing your Food and Beverage:

 

We have small soft-sided coolers for our kayaks that fit perfectly into the storage compartments, keeping all your food and favorite beverages ice cold and fresh. Hard sided coolers will not fit into our kayaks. If you don’t have one, we do. Let us know if you need to rent one.

Where to meet:

 

You will meet us at the Hacienda Hotel & Casino located on Us 93 Hwy Boulder City, NV. We will be waiting for you in the North side of the parking lot.  Please arrive at the security check 30 minutes prior to launch.  ID required.  Trip length from start to finish is approximately 8 hours.  Please be courteous to other kayakers and promptly show up on time at your pickup location from Willow Beach.  Late fees will be assessed if you do not arrive at the take-out point on time. Access to the launch site is by permit purchased from the NPS for $15 per person. Permits are limited and do sell out quickly, so please call us to check for space availability and make reservations.

 

Please be aware that self-guided paddlers are responsible for getting their group to the take-out point on time. As a self-guided paddler, you are acknowledging that you are experienced in the outdoors and have adequate paddling and self-rescue skills. Should you, your group, or the equipment need to be rescued, you will be responsible for all charges incurred and any damages to equipment. 

 

Evolution Expeditions cannot be held responsible for weather conditions, wind, rain, heat, or other elements of nature. Keep in mind, you are choosing to venture into a primitive area where access is limited and there is no cell phone reception. You should be self-sufficient in rescues, and confident to deal with emergencies on your own. Please read our policy page.
