Black Canyon is located a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip in Lake Mead National Recreation Area and is truly one of those unique places to visit. The canyon that we will be kayaking was formed by the Colorado River that lies just below the mighty Hoover Dam.
Your guided kayak tour is great for beginners to advanced paddlers. This outdoor adventure paddles all year and starts at 10am from Willow Beach and continues up river while paddling in the Colorado Rivers’ eddies. Here you can enjoy the beauty of Black Canyon, Emerald Cave and the 1921 Water Gauging historical sites. We will also stop along the way to swim and enjoy the cool and refreshing waters of the Colorado River and have a healthy gourmet lunch on a secluded beach.
During your kayak excursion, our experienced and knowledgeable guides will share with you the history of this magnificent geological area. The high canyon walls will leave you breathless. Be prepared to see Desert Big Horn Sheep, Osprey, Falcons, Bald Eagles and Great Blue Heron in their natural setting.
Free shuttle pick up and drop off:
Hotel shuttle pickup times vary and will be given upon confirmation of booking your Las Vegas kayak tour. Launch time is at 10am. Trip length from start to finish is approximately 6 hours and may vary with traffic conditions. Shuttle drivers will wait 10 minutes prior to departing your pick up location. Please be courteous to other kayakers and promptly show up on time at your pickup or launch location.

Let me start by saying there are LOTS of kayak companies out there in the Las Vegas area. The concierge at Red Rock suggested one, but it was a 1/2 day on Lake Mead.
